The Ouija planchette moves to yes

Thursday Thoughts

Y’all know I love a good horror movie, but these days, I think they’re hard to find. I came across one, that had the creepy vibe I love by surprise. I remembered seeing the trailer for Ouija but I never got around to seeing it. Then I was browsing in the library and came across it.

Movie Title: Ouija : Origin of Evil

Summary:

It was never just a game. Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, Ouija: Origin of Evil tells a terrifying new tale in 1967 Los Angeles. A widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

This is not your average horror story. It’s almost Inception style with it’s story within a story, and ironic notes. The acting was rather topnotch, especially from the younger actresses who had to sell … the situations that arise. Hah. I’m not giving anything away. It did the suspense right, trailing you alone and boom delivering that shock at just the right, not quite anticipated moment. You knew the scare was coming, but you didn’t know when.

If you love a good creepy flick with vintage styling because this is set in the 50’s I highly recommend it.
