Read a book, Change a Life

Everyone has a book that changed their life. I’m going to list three that did that for me ,in no particular order.

Oh, the Places you’ll go. Dr. Seuss

It opened my mind to the possibilities, and the older I got, the more it came to mean. He took us through a brilliant journey of young adulthood in such a sneaky way. We were enjoying the rhymes, without thinking about the meaning behind the words, until it was time to comprehend them. That takes real skill.

The Little Prince: Antoine De Saint-Exupery

This is another book that blew my mind with its depth and comes to mean more and more as I get older and dig deeper into what lies beneath the story of an alien boy far from home. The people he meets and adventures he has are a life lesson. I encourage you to read this book if you’ve never done so. It’s an experience I think everyone should have.

It's also now a movie available on Netflix.

Last but not least

The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening: L.J. Smith

I can remember finding this at a Book Rack ( A local used bookstore). It brought me into the world of paranormal romance and YA horror. The discovery of that genre led to the realization that yes, I wanted to be a writer. I devoured this series along with R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike, and so many other wonderful writers from that period. It’s amazing how one thing can lead to another.
